The accreditation was awarded following a period of stringent review by the NBAA of current flight operations data and a plan voluntarily drafted by Honda Aircraft Company's Flight Department, which aims to achieve more sustainable company flight operations. The plan outlined by Honda Aircraft Company designates specific initiatives and targets, including increased usage of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), the introduction of new technologies to further improve the industry-leading fuel efficiency of the HondaJet, and other measures intended to achieve the optimal minimum environmental impact of aircraft operated by the company.

The plan they have outlined will go to further Honda's broader corporate policy, which aims to realize net-zero carbon emissions for all business operations by the year 2050. Already in 2023, the Honda Aircraft Company Flight Department achieved a 100% reduction in carbon emissions over 2019 through its use of SAF, SAF certificates (SAF-C), and carbon offsets. The plan approved by the NBAA expresses the Honda Aircraft Company Flight Department's intent to move away from carbon offsets in the coming years, as the company transitions toward conducting flight operations powered entirely by SAF and SAF-C.

Honda has already undertaken a series of initiatives directed at the reduction of its carbon footprint. Honda Motor Company currently holds a position on the international technical review panel for SAF, alongside the Federal Aviation Administration and other aviation firms.

CHICAGO, Sept. 24, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Cresset Real Estate Partners, in partnership with Lovett Industrial, announced today they have agreed to a lease with BroadRange Logistics on a 1,224,498 square-foot facility within Northport Logistics Center in Conroe, Texas. About 40 miles north of Houston, the lease marks the largest speculatively-built warehouse ever leased within the Houston area.

By signing the lease, BroadRange Logistics, a fast-growing third-party logistics firm, will occupy the state-of-the-art Northport Logistics Center, which was designed to the highest specifications. This includes the 40-foot clear-height building with truck courts measuring 190 feet deep, 273 trailer parking stalls, 224 loading dock doors and 8-inch slab-on-grade foundation.

The facility, which broke ground in September 2022, is located within the larger Conroe Business Park, a 1,655-acre location, allows convenient service to Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. More than 30 companies and over 3,000 employees already populate Conroe Business Park, which boasts four-lane roads, municipal utilities and quick access to I-45 through three convenient interchanges.

HONOLULU, Sept. 23, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. (NYSE: ALEX) ("A&B" or the "Company"), a Hawai'i-based owner, operator, and developer of high-quality commercial real estate, announced it has completed an off-market acquisition of an industrial property in Pearl City, O'ahu for $29.7 million.

The 81,500-square-foot food distribution facility is fully leased to Hansen Distribution Group, a broadline food service subsidiary of C&S Wholesale Grocers, an industry leader in supply chain solutions and wholesale grocery supply in the United States. Its central location on O'ahu provides ease of access to the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Honolulu Harbor and Honolulu's urban core.

The New Terminal One is a key component of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's $19 billion transformation of JFK Airport into a world-class gateway, which will include two new terminals, the modernization and expansion of two existing terminals, a new ground transportation center, and an entirely new, simplified roadway network.

Scheduled to open in 2026, the New Terminal One will offer an exceptional customer experience, leveraging state-of-the-art technology. To create a seamless and efficient customer journey, the New Terminal One and K2 will work closely with the Transportation Security Administration and screening technology providers including Analogic, Rohde & Schwarz, CEIA and Leidos to design and develop the security checkpoint.

The new checkpoint will feature Computed Tomography (CT) X-ray scanners that produce high-quality 3-D images, reducing the need to touch or manually check bags and enabling travelers to move faster through screening lanes, while ensuring that security remains a foremost priority.

K2 will also install enhanced Advanced Imaging Technology (eAIT) that uses millimeter wave technology to detect metallic and non-metallic objects concealed in layers of clothing or on the body. The eAIT allows for the screening of multiple travelers simultaneously, increasing the efficiency of the screening process.

Additionally, K2 will integrate Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) that will validate the authenticity of a passenger's identification credential and identify individuals who may require additional screening. The second-generation CAT-2 systems provide automated identity verification with an embedded camera for biometric and self-service capabilities.

The New Terminal One will replace the existing Terminal 1 and the former Terminals 2 and 3, handling anticipated traffic of more than 16 million passengers in 2030.

This land acquisition represents Mattamy's first lot take-down entrance into the larger Mountain View Ranch master-planned community. As set forth in the lawsuit, a threat actor utilizing astonishingly accurate confidential information reserved for insiders at Charles Schwab informed the clients that their Charles Schwab investment accounts had been compromised and that all of their assets had to be temporarily liquidated, transferred to bank accounts, and then converted into cryptocurrency at Unchained, which was purported to be a safe haven for our clients assets while the account compromise at Charles Schwab was resolved. At several steps along that path, the lawsuit alleges, Charles Schwab, Bank of America, and Unchained were faced with actual, clear, and unmistakable evidence that the couple were the victims of a brutal and sophisticated financial scam that called for heightened scrutiny and halted forward momentum. The institutions, however, failed to enforce key Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) protocols mandated by the Bank Secrecy Act, thereby aiding the fraudulent transfer of the couple's life savings.

Equally troubling is that the lawsuit explains Charles Schwab was responsible for an August 2023 customer data breach that exposed confidential customer information and electronic files, including Social Security numbers, financial account information, and other sensitive customer data, which Schwab itself conceded increased the risk of identity theft and other fraudulent activities such as those which were inflicted upon the plaintiffs in the lawsuit.  The lawsuit alleges that, despite known and actual red flags of elder financial abuse and identity theft, Charles Schwab, Bank of America, and Unchained Trading did not act on the suspicious activities taking place in the couple's accounts. Instead, these institutions allegedly attempted to upsell these senior citizens on additional fee-generating services predicated on the companies' actual knowledge of exploitative behavior in the victims' accounts that should have triggered protective measures instead of additional exploitative behavior.

This case sheds light on the broader issue of financial institutions neglecting their duty to safeguard senior citizens from exploitation. Elder abuse cases like this highlight a troubling pattern where trusted institutions allow fraud to occur under their watch, prioritizing profit over protection.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 1, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Hamilton Zanze, a leading San Francisco-based multifamily real estate investment firm, announced today that it has sold Maple Bay Townhomes, a 414-unit apartment community in Virginia Beach, Va. The firm sponsored the acquisition of the property in 2019 and, after instituting a comprehensive capital improvement program, closed the sale on Sept. 25. 

Hamilton Zanze's renovation efforts included roof replacements, the repainting of building exteriors and upgrades to the apartment homes, pool area and other common-area amenities.

"We are very pleased with the disposition of Maple Bay," said Anthony Ly, Senior Director of Transactions at Hamilton Zanze. "Through our business plan and our commitment to creating outstanding resident experiences, we were able to increase net operating income by 35% at the property. It is hard to close transactions in today's market, but through our extensive relationships with brokers and sponsors across the industry, we were able to successfully execute this disposition."

Situated at 356 S Chesire Court, Maple Bay was built in 1971 and features one-, two- and three-bedroom townhomes ranging from 1,000 to 1,400 square feet. The community sits in the northeast portion of Virginia Beach, less than five miles from the shore, and boasts a commuter-friendly location, with prime access to key thoroughfares such as Interstate 264, Virginia Beach Boulevard and First Colonial Road. Residents are also surrounded by an abundance of shopping, dining and entertainment options.

Community amenities at Maple Bay include a swimming pool and spa, splash pad, resident clubhouse, fitness room, onsite dog park, car wash station, playground, dedicated garage parking, package lockers and available extra storage space. WASHINGTON, Oct. 24, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Consistent with the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) efforts to enhance the passenger experience, TSA published a final rule in the Federal Register that would allow passengers to continue using mobile driver's licenses (mDL) for identity verification at TSA airport security checkpoints once REAL ID enforcement begins on May 7, 2025.

The final rule, effective November 25, 2024, allows states to apply to TSA for a temporary waiver of certain REAL ID requirements written in the REAL ID regulations. Once approved, those state mDLs will continue to be accepted at TSA airport security checkpoints. TSA will publish on its website a list of states where mDLs are approved for federal acceptance. After emerging industry standards and federal guidelines are finalized, TSA intends to issue a future rulemaking to set more comprehensive requirements for mDLs that will eventually replace the waiver provisions established by this rule.

"This rule demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the passenger experience through secure and privacy-enhancing identity verification, facilitating innovation and honoring the intent of the REAL ID Act. We will continue to develop innovative, secure digital identity solutions with our state and industry partners."

An mDL is a digital representation of a state-issued physical driver's license that is typically installed through an application on the user's smartphone and stored in a digital wallet, similar to how many users currently store their physical credit cards on their smartphones. The information from the digital wallet is read after the smartphone is either tapped against an mDL reader or scanned under the reader to establish the validity of the mDL and a person's identity.

TSA currently accepts mDLs issued by 11 states at 27 participating airports and has a goal of accepting mDLs in all airports, by expanding the technology nationwide. These states include Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, New York, Ohio and Utah.

RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 26, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- In a bold move to strengthen the digital infrastructure landscape in Virginia, PowerHouse Data Centers, a leading real estate developer for next-generation hyperscale data centers and division of American Real Estate Partners (AREP), and strategic joint venture partner, Chirisa Technology Parks (CTP), the wholesale and hyperscale data center development platform of Chirisa Investments, have announced the acquisition of 104 acres in Chesterfield County, directly adjacent to CTP's existing technology campus.

Development at the newly acquired Meadowville site, which will be introduced to market as Digital Drive, will include five turn-key AI-ready facilities totaling over 600,000 square feet of space. The campus is designed to provide AI-optimized infrastructure supported by 300 MW of secured power from the adjacent Meadowville substation. This substation, currently under construction in partnership with Dominion Energy, is part of a broader initiative to reinforce the grid at the Meadowville Technology Park with an eventual goal of adding over 1 GW of power capacity.

Digital Drive's first facility is expected to be delivered by 2026, with full campus completion projected by 2028. This speed to market timeline defines the partners' dedication to delivering high-quality, scalable data center infrastructure on a rapid schedule. The phased approach ensures that hyperscale and AI customers will have access to flexible infrastructure that can adapt to evolving market needs.
